~MINI CHALLENGE~

Take time today to pray for the leaders in your church. Then, as the Lord leads, write to one or more of them and tell them that their labor for the Lord is appreciated. If you have not thought about the work required to shepherd a flock, pray about it right now and thank God for providing laborers for His work. If you are having problems with your local leaders, please read the blog post here and then pray that God will lead you in how to forgive, how to submit to your elders even when you think they may be wrong. Let God work, don't do things in your own strength. He is able, you are not. Church leaders- you don't get away without a challenge. Pray for a specific family in your local body. Maybe visit, call, or write them a note letting them know that you are praying for them. It is a great example to those in the local body. As I have said before about parenting, "If we don't lead by our own example, surely they will not follow"

  1. So needful, Mark; and a command, rather than an option. Thanks! Will keep taking this challenge! -Traci

  3. It shouldn't take your challenge to make me to thank & encourage my pastors. It is something, so very important, that I should do on a regular basis. Thanks for the reminder. -Sharon

  5. Whatever you follow becomes your leader. The Good Shepherd is known by His sheep and knows His sheep, they will follow Him, but the voice of a stranger they do not know, nor will they follow.. (see John 10:1-21 on Shepherding..and leading the flock...also Ezekiel 34, and Psalm 23...there are others)

God is good all the time and when we follow in His leading He will lead us to the still waters and the green pastures (Psalm 23). He will guide us and direct us and establish our footsteps - It is in His timing always (1 Peter 5:6), we just need to be obedient unto Him as He calls and provides the path.

Our church body and leaders within the church need to be lifted up daily in prayer, the families need to be brought before the Lord without ceasing, we all must take on this role as directed by the Lord of Lords...we are all members of the body of Christ (1 Corinthians 12:12-31), we all have been gifted through the Holy Spirit (in one way or another) for His service, let us not forsake that, let us lift ONE-ANOTHER up always.

    In Christ,

    Kevan

  6. I have an audio message by Elijah Hall that I will be posting in the next few days. Must listen! This message made me cry, conviction and desire to please the Lord mixed sweetly in this heartfelt plea for the body to remember that as we treat those in Christ's body, so we do to our Lord Jesus. Powerful stuff, will get it online soon.
